Applicant Eligibility (subclass 115)
- You must be sponsored by an eligible parent or step-parent, sibling or step-sibling, or an eligible partner of your relative.
- You or your partner must not have any “near relative” who usually live outside Australia or who live in Australia temporarily. “Near Relative” includes:
- parent or step-parent
- partner’s parent or step-parent
- sibling or step-sibling
- child or stepchild who is 18 or older and not dependent on you
- child or stepchild who is under 18 and not in your or your partner’s daily care and control
- You must have an assurance of support which is an undertaking that you will not rely on government assistance after you enter Australia on this visa.
- Must meet Australian health and character requirements.
Sponsor Eligibility (subclass 115)
- Must be either a settled and Australian citizen or permanent resident or Eligible New Zealand Citizen; who is usually resident in Australia.
- Must be the remaining relative of you or your partner.
- You or your partner must not have held or sponsored someone else for subclass 835 / 115 / 104 / 806 visa.
- The sponsorship must be approved by Department of Home Affairs.
