About this Visa
Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream
- You can live, work and study in Australia indefinitely.
- You can sponsor eligible family members to come to Australia.
- You can travel to and from Australia multiple times.
- You can enrol in Australia’s public health care scheme, Medicare.
- You can apply for Australian citizenship, if eligible.
- You must be a transitional subclass 457 or subclass 482 worker.
- You must hold a substantive visa or a Bridging visa A, B or C in association with a pending 482, 186 or 187 visa.
- You must usually, have worked for your employer in regional Australia for at least 3 years full time while holding a subclass 457 or 482 visa.
- You must have been nominated by an Australian employer whose nomination was approved in the 6 months prior to you applying.
