Overview

This is a temporary visa that allows the holder to study in Australia upto 5 years.

After the grant of Student Visa (Subclass 500):

You can participate in an eligible course of study.
You can bring family members with you.
You can work unlimited hours in any sector.
You can travel to and from Australia multiple times during the visa validity period.

If you are a school student you must be at least 6 years of age and less than 17 years old when you begin Year 9 or less than 18 years old when you begin Year 10 or less than 19 years old when you begin Year 11 or less than 20 years old when you begin Year 12.
You must be enrolled in a course of study and provide Certificate of Enrolment (COE).
If you are under 18 years of age you must have adequate welfare arrangements in place while you are in Australia.
You must have enough funds to pay for your stay in Australia.
You must be a genuine temporary entrant and intend to return home after completing studies in Australia.
You must provide evidence of your English language skills.
You must meet Australian health and character requirements.
